Prior to founding Comet in 2007, he was the director of public relations for a branding communications agency, national brand manager for Funjet Vacations and a brand coordinator for Aurora Healthcare after starting his career at Hill & Knowlton Public Relations in Chicago.
Together with business partner Sara Meaney, he is the co-host to Comet Radio, a weekly Internet radio show that discusses new trends in marketing, public relations and social media, and features thought leaders from around the country.
Al gives presentations on branding, public relations and the strategic use of social media in that mix. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. He sits on the board of directors of The Eisner – American Museum of Advertising & Design, is the co-founder of the Social Media Club of Milwaukee and co-chair of the Social Media Committee for the PRSA Milwaukee Chapter. He is a member of the Steering Committee for Milwaukee’s CreativityWorks!, the Milwaukee Regional Creative Industries Project. Al has also contributed as a featured guest blogger to PRWeek’s Insider Blog.
He was named to the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2010 Forty Under 40 Business Leaders to Watch list and recently to the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2010 Power Book, which ranks the most influential people in the region per industry. He was chosen for social media.
