I think the list you have provided is excellent. Though it is not actual tangible references it highlights the idea that a social media campaign takes business and marketing savvy, as well as thorough research. I have experienced companies that have their Facebook page well designed and have thousands of fans, but their engagement tactics are mediocre. If a page has thousands of fans and only a couple of likes and comments on each post there could a lack of #3 or #4, as mentioned above.

Thanks for the post. By skills, I was looking for more tangible references. I would add actual examples and links to tools that can be used to more efficiently navigate the social sphere.

great list, but no mention of the importance of good photography? Photos may not have the impact of video, but for those of us who haven’t done much with video (yet), they serve as a close second, imo.

That’s some great insight Tim. Companies need to create a balance between ad-videos and authentic content. Honest opinions and user insight is hard to beat no matter how nicely the video is produced. Thank you for your comments.

Good point about being authentic. That has to be first. When I was shopping for a new cell phone, I noticed Verizon had a site with video content for the Droid. They hyped it up too much though. I ended up running to You Tube for some poorly recorded, but honest reviews.
