I was fortunate to be interviewed by Tannette Johnson-Elie from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel regarding my use of Twitter as a networking and business tool. Her story here.

Since then, I’ve really been working on how to use the tool better. By using Twellow.com, Summize.com and Twhirl, I have been able to stay on top of news and find people across the globe who are talking about branding and public relations. I have even begun conversations with some cool companies and met new and interesting people. The question remains though, is Twitter just for networking and news?

As a marketing tool, Twitter may actually supplant or supplement the opportunities of mobile text messaging, etc. An area that I find pretty personal and might be offended if some company contacts me through text. I’ve received too many random late-night texts about car loans. However, with Twitter, you can use mobile or web alerts or a variety of other ways to get information and follow others.

A few minutes ago, I can across this article by a Twitterer (@cgranier), who wrote about some dos and don’ts when using Twitter as a marketing tool…
