If you haven’t heard of stickybits yet, you need to download the app today and get involved in what will most likely be our future: attaching digital content to real world objects.
I have been waiting for the chance to use stickybits in a creative way since the day I found out about this amazing new social media outlet. It just blew my mind we are now able to attach digital content to real life objects, and share this content to anyone else that finds these particular barcodes.
The different ways you can utilize sitckybits is endless. I have so many ideas running in my end every day as to how I can integrate a stickybit into a real life object that I interact with each day.
When you check out the stickybits Web site, you will find the different tactics they suggest, such as attaching a stickybit to your business card, advertise different products or services on flyers, and my favorite, scan everyday items like cereal boxes, soda bottles, gum packages, and whatever barcode you can find! It is endless!
The widespread existence of social mediums like stickybits will be shocking as this development continues to evolve and become more mainstream. In the near future businesses will take advantage of including stickybits on promotional items at events to achieve more interaction with their consumers and push their real world objects out to a larger audience through social media.
Since my family is taking a vacation to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida this weekend I thought I would take advantage of this trip and have some fun using stickybits for the first time. I would love for all of you to be involved and track our trip as we travel from Milwaukee to Disney World.
When you scan the barcode within this blog post, you will be able to see the various media I attach to it, such as photos, videos, comments along the way, and also include your own comments about what you like most about Disney World or your thoughts on my trip.
I look forward to a weekend with my family and we’ll see if Mickey wants to get involved with the fun. I will be bringing the stickybit stickers with me and post them on items along our trip.
So stay tuned to what happens this weekend as I bring stickybits to Walt Disney World!
Have you used stickybits yet? Are you working on creative strategies on how to implement them into your event marketing plan? Would love to hear your thoughts!
